my so called otiose discussions

I created this blog to express my thoughts at will, free of constraint, allowed to wander freely and hit upon any unearthly topics of mundane discussion. I am definitely not here to impress people with my generous play of words, twisting and manipulating phrases to give a grandoise effect. Nope. I'm just here to feed people my thoughts, emotions and most importantly - who i am.

The world is a cruel and harsh place. Not a drop of mercy has survived. Hope, yes, its present everywhere. Hope is what keeps the world up and running. What a pain! Humans are surviving on something as vague and invisible as hope? What a shame!

Family is important. They give us a sense of compassion, love and the sense of companionship. But then again, having siblings at times is so irritating!!! For instance, my brother, the "Great know-all" has a take on everything i do. I'm dumb so it seems, in his eyes. Now how would one escape the scrutiny of someone as snobbish as that! But then again, if i didn't have him, life wouldn't be as colourful.

Life gives us most things we want, but also loves giving stuff we don't want. It's all about creating a "balance".

Its summer. I should be out celebrating, but the indian education system fails to encourage me in this department. Senior year at college can be fun as well as highly boring. A baby could guess that i experience the latter.

Education is important, but in India its lunacy!

My brain is genuinely running dry of thoughts. The streamlined flow of my otiose thoughts have stagnated at such wee hours in the morning.

I bring an abrupt end to this one but i'll keep more coming.

Here's a poetic ending:

"And as the candle burns lower and lower into the night...."

Comedy of Errors

One of shakespearean masterpieces, that stood the test of time and even today keeps audiences entranced when performed tastefully. Comedy of errors as satiric as it was, had a certain humorous angle to it, an extreme rarity in shakespeare's plays.
" Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast."
Sarcastic as he was, Shakespeare had depth in his words. His quotes were in great taste. The world famous quote from shakespearean play 'Julius Caesar' - "et tu brute". Three mere words had enough power to cut through like a knife. Shakespeare wrote not to inspire, he wrote the truth. He showed the world the dark side encroached by betrayal, hatred , conspiracy, and the fire of revenge..
Comedy of errors was set in Ephesus, modern day Turkey. This showed Shakespeare was an open minded person, not constricting himself to the confines of the british isles. He had the desire within him to explore new horizons. His philosophies were never influenced by the church, which was prevalent in all parts of Europe back then.

Comedy of errors or comedy of terrors as we would call it, is not as hilarious as it sounds. Shakespeare's idea of comedy was a play in which the hero didn't drop dead all the time. He was famous for penning tragedies, mostly because his own life was one....

The Realm of Madness

"Madness is like gravity - all it requires is a little push and the rest is taken care of."

These very words were uttered by the critically acclaimed 'Joker' played by the late Heath Ledger in the blockbuster movie "The Dark Knight".
There is a lot of truth hidden in these words. Worthy of an oscar....
Madness is independent of origin, without any purpose. It feeds on minds just for the pleasure of seeing them twitch and twirl under its control.
Noone tell madness what to do, it is a spirit free of all bonds. Our own thoughts are the most precious to us. When it is manipulated and shown a direction not agreeable to us, madness is born.
Scores of psycho killers, madmen have been born not evil, but a twist of fate caused madness to burn like the fires of heptaethus's forges, in their eyes.
Madness knows no boundaries, it plays by no rules. The biggest arch rival of madness is purity. The purity and goodness that exists in this world is the only power that can contrast madness and make it obsolete. Madness is an evil that keeps this world in a balance. Respected individuals are also no strangers to madness.
It is out there, everywhere, beckoning to innocents. The unfortunates who embrace it fade into the realm of madness, only to be engulfed by the everspreading oblivion...

The Sound of Raindrops

"Rain rain go away,
come again another day."
A poem that escapes the lips of every child as their evening play is disrupted by the fresh smell of rain and patter of the tiny drops from heaven. Pitter- patter, pitter-patter..... the sound of falling raindrops is a music within itself, and one of nature's finest.
Sitting by their lonely windows, many a poet have been awe-inspired to compose masterpieces praising the ever so beautiful rain. Rain is nature's music, expressing its latent thoughts.
The rain is wild yet soothing. Tip-top, pit-pat, slosh-a-wash... various versions of the sound of rain as it traverses over the green planet. If one would listen closely, a certain rhythm would come to the ears tempting us to do a jig or two.
Today, as people hurry towards their destinies, few linger to catch the tune of the rain and enjoy it.
The sound of the rain, is truely a gift of nature and who haven't heard it, are mere souls wandering to find a way in this cruel world.

Recognition

Reaching for the skies, is a saying, but to realise it, is the beauty of being recognised. Recognition is bliss, recognition is pain. Every human being nurtures a desire deep within their heart, few persevere to make the desire into happiness. The purity of the happiness is tested by destiny. The true face of recognition is neither happiness nor unhappiness. It is merely, how one shapes it. A person can be recognised for their skills, valour or simply, the goodness of their hearts.
It is like a feather floating in the wind, it rests on a rock for a while and then continues with its never-ending journey. Being recognised is like finding heaven, but when it fades out one feels like a being trapped in the darkest corner of hell.
Having the strength to discover the paradise of recognition and hold on to it as if life would cease to exist without it, is just but the beginning to realising a dream.
